World premiere performance of the pieces we commissioned on the subject of what it is we call home. An exploration on the experience of emigration, using music as a way to express the emotional and cultural journey. Elchin Shirinov reimagines through his music his emigration to the UK from Azerbaijan, whilst Louise Dodds’ lyrics retrace her maternal grandmother’s journey to the UK from Eastern Europe as a young woman.
